Developing our people into confident business owners is the key takeaway of the planned business symposium.
Hikirangi Wairoa Launches Inaugural Business Symposium to Grow Local Enterprise
and Leadership
Wairoa, New Zealand — August 28th and August 29th 2025
Hikirangi Wairoa is proud to announce the launch of the first-ever Te Rohe o Te Wairoa Business
Symposium, a dynamic two-day event aimed at developing our own people into confident business owners and future directors.
The symposium marks a major milestone for the Wairoa business community, bringing together
entrepreneurs, professionals, and service providers to learn, share, and collaborate. Through a series
of panels, networking opportunities, and interactive sessions, attendees will engage with key insights
and strategies to help grow sustainable businesses.
“Our vision is simple: to strengthen the confidence and capability of our local people by opening
doors to knowledge, resources, and connections that can guide them forward,” says a spokesperson
for Hikirangi Wairoa.
The event will feature industry panels covering areas such as Information Technology, Online
Marketing, Retail, Health & Wellbeing, Whenua Dependent Industries, Māori Arts, Infrastructure, Contracting, and Social Enterprise. Panellists and guest speakers—many of whom were born or built
their ventures in Wairoa—will share their journeys and offer practical, real-world advice for
navigating the business landscape.
Adding to the atmosphere of celebration and inspiration, a Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of
Day One, giving participants the opportunity to connect in a more relaxed setting while honouring
excellence, resilience, and the collective spirit of Wairoa’s business community.
From mingling with like-minded entrepreneurs to participating in workshops and strategy kōrero, the Te Rohe o Te Wairoa Business Symposium offers a unique platform for collective growth and
future planning.
